Our mission is to empower young people in Northamptonshire aged 16+ with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) by equipping them with the essential life skills needed to build confidence, independence, and employability. Through our tailored support, we help participants prepare for a range of employment opportunities, whether voluntary or paid, and ensure they are equipped for long-term success in both their professional and personal lives.

Key Areas of Focus & Benefits

Life Skills Development

  • Practical guidance on budgeting, time management, problem-solving, and daily responsibilities, ensuring participants feel more self-sufficient in work and everyday life.

  • Training on essential workplace behaviours, including punctuality, teamwork, and professionalism to help ease the transition into employment.

CV Writing & Job Applications

  • One-on-one support to create clear, effective CVs that highlight each individual’s strengths, experiences, and unique abilities.

  • Assistance in tailoring job applications to different roles, increasing the chances of securing interviews.

Interview Skills & Confidence Building

  • Mock interviews and real-world practice to improve communication, presentation, and problem-solving during interviews.

  • Techniques to manage anxiety and build self-confidence, make interviews a less stressful experience.

Social, Emotional & Communication Skills

  • Training in effective communication, workplace etiquette, and conflict resolution, helping participants navigate professional and social interactions.

  • Boosting self-esteem and resilience, ensuring young people feel empowered to advocate for themselves in various environments.

Volunteer Roles to Gain Work Experience
For those looking to gain hands-on experience to strengthen their CV and boost employability, we offer a range of voluntary roles at our main clubhouse/site. These provide an opportunity to develop key workplace skills, build confidence, and explore different career paths: 

  • Bar Work – Customer service, handling payments, and maintaining a professional work environment.

  • Kitchen Work – Preparing food, maintaining hygiene standards and working in a fast-paced catering setting.

  • Match Day Support – Helping with event coordination, crowd assistance, and ensuring smooth operations for home games at NTWFC (Northampton Town Women’s FC) & NSRFC (Northampton Sileby Rangers FC).

  • Pitch Maintenance – Learning about sports turf care, lining pitches, and maintaining playing surfaces.

  • Ground Maintenance – Assisting with general site upkeep, repairs, and facility management.

These roles provide valuable real-world experience that can help young people transition into paid employment in hospitality, events, sports management, and maintenance roles.

Career & Employment Support

  • Personalised job-matching support, helping individuals find roles that align with their skills and aspirations.

  • Assistance with online job searching, application portals, and technical support to access employment opportunities independently.

  • Guidance on workplace adjustments and rights, ensuring participants feel supported when transitioning into employment.

 

Flexible Drop-in Support

Every Friday | 1 PM - 4 PM – In-person (by appointment), video call, or phone call – whichever works best for you!

What We Offer During Drop-in Hours:
✔ One-to-one job search assistance (paid or voluntary opportunities based on current qualifications).
✔ CV writing and improvement.
✔ Mock interview practice and feedback.
✔ Technical support for online job applications.
✔ General employability skills development.
