Steve is a retired Police Officer having served for 30 years in Northamptonshire Police and since retirement from the force in 2006 has worked as an office manager in the construction industry. As well as his involvement with Sport4Fitness, working on the administration and fundraising side of Sport4Fitness’s activities Steve is currently a Parish Councillor at Billing Parish Council in Northampton.

Steve and his wife have two grown up children and five grandchildren and whilst his own children were growing up Steve was a Parent Governor at what was then Ecton Brook Middle School for a total of eight years and was part of the team that ran Billing United Football Club for seventeen years acting as vice chairman, treasurer and again being involved in fundraising to take three teams of players away on football tours in three different years.

With a passion and great belief that outdoor sport and other activities in the outside are very important for the growth and development of all children Steve’s ambition is to help Sport4Fitness grow and be able to provide as many possibilities as are possible to help stimulate children’s enjoyment and appreciation of what, with help, everyone can achieve.

A man with many hats Pete is the team’s ‘go to’ guy when anybody needs something doing. Pete is the caretaker/cleaner of the pavilion and makes sure all the kit is clean, safe and ready for all the visitors to use. His brush is in constant use making sure everywhere is neat and tidy even when the weather is not at its best.

Always ready to pop the kettle on or help out if somebody needs some assistance with something Pete is an important part of the team.

With years of experience with market trading and an expert in his own right in regard of vintage tins (food, coffee, tea, sweets etc.) Pete is easy to talk to and talk with and has a magnetism with many of the children.

Pete is DBS Certified and is looking to increase his qualifications during 2022
